The hottest new spot on the San Francisco Bay Area’s bar scene is the Bar Car, the Bay Area’s first mobile bar bringing the party to your doorstep in a retrofitted 1965 Airstream trailer. The brainchild of restaurant and bar entrepreneur Greg Medow, Bar Car is a fully loaded mobile bar designed to liven up private parties and events – and make your job as host a whole lot easier.

“We bring the party to your home, your private tailgate, wedding or corporate event and free you up to enjoy your own party,” says Medow. “From classic martinis and local brews on tap to music and ping pong – we want to help make you the greatest host ever.”

The chic Bar CartBar Car is a fully renovated 1965 Airstream trailer converted into a mobile bar. The side opens up to reveal a full liquor bar of your choosing with a self-serve beer tap pouring favorite local brews such as 21st Amendment, Lagunitas IPA, Speakeasy Prohibition Ale, Almanac Farmer’s Reserve, Magnolia Kalifornia Kolsch, Fort Point Villager IPA, Faction Brewery Pilsner along with specialty cocktails including Rum & Honey, Orchard Oasis, Garden Punch, and Jack, John & Co. Bar Car can seamlessly accommodate special requests and will serve whatever it takes to make the host look good. Totally self-contained, Bar Car is perfect for birthdays, tailgates, after work happy hours and weddings. There is no setup, no cleanup and, best of all, no last minute ice runs.

Designed by Nomad Airstream of Upstate New York, Bar Car fuses mid-century modern design for a retro chic look to create a fun environment that is both inimitable and practical. Interior design details include stainless steel cabinets throughout the brushed aluminum interior with cobalt blue accents, a mahogany bar, LED floor lighting to create soft, indirect light and dimmable overhead lights. A mahogany outlined chalkboard features drink specials for each select event.

“My hope is for Bar Car to invoke memories and lead to entertaining stories for all of the party guests,” said Medow. “With its mid-century modern look, Bar Car is bound to steal the show at any social gathering.”

Bar Car was created by Greg Medow, a graduate of the Cornell School of Hotel Administration who has helped launch and support several innovative Bay Area restaurant and bar ventures including Hobson’s Choice, Indigo Restaurant and Crimson Lounge, Cyrus, Foreign Cinema, Mission Bowling Club, Pizzeria Delfina (Palo Alto and Burlingame) and Flanahan’s. His career has been guided by his strong passion for finding ways to surprise and delight people through good food and entertainment.

Drawn to the iconic Airstream trailers, Greg appreciates that they represent a time when life seemed simpler and less stressful. Inspired by this concept, Greg created Bar Car as a way to ease the stress and pressure of throwing a good party. Bar Car is available for private parties and events and can be customized to meet your needs. Pricing begins at $25 per person and a minimum of $1,000.
